Katz Center - Fellowship Program

Organization: Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies

The Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships for the 2014-2015 academic year on the theme of "New Perspectives on the Origins, Context, and Diffusion of the Academic Study of Judaism." The predominant narrative in this history of the academic study of Jews and Judaism is that of the Wissenschaft des Judentums (WdJ), which fulfilled crucial cultural, political, and religious functions in its day, and which, despite recent scholarship, remains to be fully contextualized. The Katz Center invites applications from scholars in the humanities and social sciences at all levels, as well as outstanding graduate students in the final stage of writing their dissertations to apply for this fellowship. Stipend amounts are based on a fellow's academic standing and financial need with a maximum of $50,000 for the academic year.
