The Balzan Prize's aim is to foster culture, the sciences and the most meritorious initiatives in the cause of humanity, peace and brotherhood among peoples throughout the world. The General Prize Committee announced that the 2015 Balzan Prizes will be awarded in the following fields:-History of European Art (1300-1700)-Economic History-Oceanography-Astroparticle Physics including neutrino and gamma-ray observation.
