AMS - Otto Kinkeldey Award for Outstanding Work of Musicological Scholarship

The Otto Kinkeldey Award will honor each year a musicological book of exceptional merit published during the previous year in any language and in any country by a scholar who is past the early stages of his or her career and who is a member of the AMS or a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or the United States. The award committee will encourage or, if necessary, limit eligibility according to these general guidelines. The committee, consisting of five scholars, will entertain, but will not be limited to, nominations from any individual and will choose a small group of finalists from among all the candidates, from which a single winner will be selected. At the committee's discretion, it may choose to name a maximum of three finalists. The winner receives a monetary prize and a certificate, and the finalists a certificate, conferred at the Annual Business Meeting of the Society by the chair of the committee.Nominations, including self-nominations, may be submitted.
