SSWR - Excellence in Research Award/Best Scholarly Contribution

Organization: Society for Social Work and Research

To recognize outstanding social work research that advances knowledge with direct applications to practice, policy, and the resolution of social problems. The intent of the Best Scholarly Contribution Award is to recognize original scholarly contributions to the peer-reviewed research literature in a given year.Nominated articles must meet all of the following eligibility criteria: (1) Eligible articles must have appeared in print during the previous calendar year. (2) The first author of the article must possess a graduate professional social work or social welfare degree (MSW, Ph.D./DSW), or be a current or former faculty or staff member in a social work program, or be a member of the Society for Social Work and Research. (3) The article must report the design, conduct, and results of a qualitative or quantitative study clearly related to social work practice, policy, or the resolution of social problems. (4) The article must meet the highest scientific standards and advance social work knowledge. See website for selection material. (5) Any single nominator may nominate up to 5 articles. Only SSWR members may submit nominations.
